The Canadian Spirit
Why is it that when I see my countries flag when I'm in a foreign country, I light up with joy and spirit?
Why is it that when I see a Canadian license plate in the USA, my first thought is to go have a conversation with the people inside?
Why is it that almost all of my friends right now in the USA are Canadians?
Its the Canadian in me. The Canadian spirit.
We're explorers. We're adventurous people. We will go all over the world, climb mountains, explore cities, traverse the seas, and see what there is out there. But we are proud of where we came from. We will always end up back home. We're proud of our country.
Lets be real. Canada has seen some better days. Overall the world is having a rough time, and Canada is no exception. If you spend time on Reddit, you would think that Canada is a dystopia with no future.
But let us not let the fear, uncertainty, and doubt from macro factors distract us from our countries great history, the natural beauty within its borders, and the amazing people that make it the place it is. At the end of the day, Canadians are strong people. We can overcome anything.
Im not sure how long I plan on staying abroad in the USA. No matter how long I spend here, I will always be a Canadian at the core.
